Organic and mechanistic are the names given to two very broad and encompassing philosophical views on the origin of the state. After a purely nominal inspection, it might seem quite clear that these theories are opposite and completely isolated from each other, as one suggests something of natural occurrence and the other of human intervention.
Organic structures encourage innovation and entrepreneurial behavior, whereas mechanistic structures inhibit it. Organic and mechanistic organizational structures are very different yet they both serve the same purpose; to coordinate and manage activities that will enable an organization to achieve its goals.
During this process, the first part of this essay will describe the basic meaning of organic and mechanistic organization with what I have understood from the class and own opinion. And the second part will discuss the difference between the organic and mechanistic organization such as structure, characteristic and conditions.
Mechanistic organizational structure does not provide enough flexibility to change or modify decision making according to situations. Therefore, a mechanistic type of structure is highly efficient for an organization which operates in a more stable environment. These features of mechanistic structures reduce opportunities for learning.
